Latest Blog Entries 12-12-2004 Happy Holidays! To celebrate this holiday season (and whichever religious festival you prefer) we've been sprucing the site up a bit. There's even a new anagram challenge on the games page. 6-12-2004: News Gosh - Perry's on a clock! 30-11-2004: News A medal awarded to one of the original wearers of Perry's vest is up for auction today. Therefore as a swan song we present The Duck Tapes - a ruthless exposé of life at LBC provided by an anonymous (beaked) donor Enjoy (**this is partly to pay the bills and partly to keep the other half of the team in the manner to which he'd like to become accustomed) 20-09-04 - Site Updates Perry's Drinking Game has been added to the games section - now you too can sample the joys of stress incontinence whilst listening to Sandi Toksvig on LBC at lunchtime How not to be eaten by a duck - Sage advice on how not to get stuffed by ducks in the Aquatic facts section 30-08-04 Home Again Perry has successfully completed his treatment at the Priory and returned safely to LBC. A diary of his Priory adventures is still online. He is in negotiations with several unsavory newspapers regarding the serialisation rights. 30-07-04 Perry at the Priory Sandi's ligging off on her hols for a month, the show's off air and Perry's at a loose end. Since he's in dire need of detox, he's being packed off to The Priory. Read his blog - Perry at the Priory 29-07-04 Cartoons from the Surreal McCoy Inspired partly by the idea of Pericles the Musical - but mostly by the vision of Pericles himself, Carol from The Surreal McCoy has sent us some great cartoons featuring our eponymous hero. These were produced during Sandi's show with Perry as a live sitter. You can see them on the Duck in Art page. 26-07-04 "Pericles - The Musical" Although it has not been possible to provide an audio clip illustrating
the moment when those shameful allegations were made about Perry's Goose-hood, we
have managed to
25-07-04 This has certainly been an interesting weekend. Since Sandi mentioned A Fowl Canard on her program last Friday, we've had almost 100 visitors and have even been Googled once (although I'm told it doesn't hurt so much after the first time). 24-07-04 Shock News - A Pericles Paternity suit!! The paparazzi are now pursuing Perry. Might he have a long-lost duckling? The story broke late on Friday when notes from Stockport appeared in the AFC Guest book referring to a shadowy figure known only as Ethel the duckling By Saturday Ethel herself had posted a note asking if Perry had been in the Stockport area recently since her Mum thought she recognised him. Shortly afterwards, this arrived at AFC.
23.07.04 Duck or Goose? A Nation Decides It's not so much a question of nature vs. Nurture but Democracy vs. Biology. We're willing to admit that Perry might look like a Goose but according to the poll set up on Friday. 75% of visitors to this site think he's a DUCK (So ya-boo-sucks to the Goose-ists). Maybe we should just regard him as a waterfowl who is totally in touch with his inner Duck? Meanwhile we've added a new page and some extra toys to this site:
22.07.04 Has Perry found lurrrrrve? It looked like Perry had been smitten. A passing mallard-ette won his heart at the wetlands centre but this story of young duck love may not have a happy ending: Their eyes met over that infamous pot of duck terrine But maybe this fickle temptress has eyes for another Our spurned hero hits the bottle 21 Jul 2004 In a shock revelation live on air, Perry has been outed as a goose. Sadly a copy of this statement - made by a well-known ace cook and gourmet - is not available (on account of the pre-set on my tape recorder not working). However, a response made the following day at LBC can be heard here: Realplayer (109Kb) Windows Media (160kb) However, we believe that this is merely a ruse on the part of Perry's detractors aimed at making him feel fowl. Duck or Goose? YOU be the judge The following photos were both taken at the London Wetlands Centre.
